St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) will participate in the Art Van Charity Challenge from May 18th at noon until June 22nd at 1:59:59 p.m., using all funds donated during the challenge to provide underprivileged youth a summer camp experience at St. Vincent de Paul’s Camp Ozanam. Beginning May 18th, prospective donors can go here to donate.
The Art Van Charity Challenge is an opportunity for St. Vincent de Paul to compete against dozens of local and regional charities to become one of ten top organizations to earn cash prizes from Art Van Furniture. The organization that raises the most during the Challenge wins a $75,000 donation for their charity from Art Van Furniture, with the tenth top charity earning an addition $7,500 donation.
Each charity will keep all of the money donated, in addition to any cash prizes awarded by Art Van Furniture. Since 1923, thanks to donor support, Camp Ozanam has welcomed more than 102,000 disadvantaged youth to enjoy a fully funded camping experience along the beautiful Lake Huron shoreline. Boys and girls, who are between the ages of 8 and 14 and demonstrate need, whether financial, social or emotional, enjoy an opportunity to be outdoors and connect with peers and mentors who believe in them.
“The children in our area who suffer from poverty or emotional distress are the most vulnerable among us, and we have a special calling to alleviate this kind of suffering. We couldn’t be more proud to participate in the Art Van Charity Challenge and are grateful to Art Van Furniture for helping us fulfill our mission,” said Bill Brazier, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul.
Please take time during this Charity Challenge to donate and make a difference in a child’s life!
