Dear Caring Friends,
The holiday season is here and I wanted to take a moment to say “thank you.” I wanted you to know how grateful I am to you for helping so much throughout the year. I greatly appreciate your support.
There are still so many right here in our community who are in need of our help, yours and mine. They are people just like you and me. People who could be our family, friends, neighbors, colleagues…
They need us, especially during the harsh winter months.
Let me share just one example of what you make possible…
Allison and John considered themselves so blessed. They were parents to an intelligent, loving little boy. They worked hard to provide a good life for their family. Then, their baby passed away unexpectedly. It was any parent’s worst nightmare.
From there, things only got more difficult…
Both parents were struggling terribly with the loss of their only child. I can’t even begin to imagine the hurt weighing on their hearts. John had taken medical leave in order to help his wife and himself through the grieving process. Unfortunately, his leave was unpaid and then, his employer decided to let John go.
Without John’s job, the family began falling into financial trouble. They got behind on their rent and utilities bills. They were just waiting for their eviction notice.
Allison and John were aching… financially, emotionally, physically.
They needed a friend… someone to comfort them and to help them see that they could rebuild their lives. that in time there would be healing.
And because of compassionate friends like YOU, that’s exactly what they found in St. Vincent de Paul.
With you behind us, we helped this suffering family into grief counseling. Then, we helped them get back on their feet by working with the utility company to take care of their bill. We also helped them get caught up on their back rent.
But every day, other families in desperate need come and ask, Please, I’m praying that you can help us. Can you?”
Because you care, because you bless us with your assistance, the answer is “YES! We can help!”
With you behind us, we’ll do everything in our power to help other individuals and families in trouble. We’ll lift them up with food, shelter, emergency assistance, counseling and every kind of help they need.
Your compassion in action can make an amazing, life-transforming difference…
God has blessed us with so much. In return he has given us a clear and simple command: “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.” John 13:34
So please will you make the most generous Christmas gift you can today?
As you celebrate Christmas, I hope your heart will be filled with beauty, joy and all the blessings of the season. God bless you for caring and for taking action today!
With warmest blessings of the season,
