Daniel P. Malone Named New CEO of St. Vincent de Paul

The Board of Directors of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul for the six counties of Metro Detroit has appointed Daniel P. Malone as its new Chief Executive Officer effective March 1, 2018.

“I have always budgeted time for our community, and the dramatic rise in inequality that our nation has witnessed this past year has only heightened that interest. Now I want to pursue those efforts on a full time basis. St. Vincent de Paul Society of Detroit has provided me with precisely that opportunity,” Mr. Malone said. “While I deeply appreciated serving our clients, our firm and served the legal profession for almost forty years, I am humbly and enthusiastically looking forward to advancing the Society’s mission and serving those in need.”

As member of the firm of Butzel Long for 38 years Mr. Malone has been recognized within the automotive supplier community as a legal expert regarding automotive safety issues. He has worked with governmental agencies, associations and domestic clients as well as many from South Korea, Japan, and Germany.

Mr. Malone is the recipient of the Champion of Justice Award from the State Bar of Michigan. This prestigious award is given to practicing lawyers and judges of integrity who adhere to the highest principles and traditions of the legal profession. Recipients demonstrate superior competence and extraordinary professional accomplishment that benefit the nation, state and local community.

Mr. Malone has extensive and dedicated history of service in the nonprofit community, including serving on the boards of Generation of Promise, U of D Jesuit High School, Boysville of Michigan, and several others. He will replace Roger Playwin who has very capably served as Interim CEO for the past four months.
