SVdP has received a donation of health care products under a grant from the Henry Schein Cares Global Product Donation Program. Through this program, Henry Schein, Inc., the world’s largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental, animal health, and medical practitioners, will provide several health care product donations valued at $5,000–$25,000 each over the course of two years to SVDP’s Dental Clinic.
The grant will enable St. Vincent de Paul Detroit Dental Clinic to more effectively carry out its mission and expand its ability to provide care to those most in need in the Detroit area. “We are extremely grateful to the Henry Schein Cares Global Product Donation Program,” said SVDP Executive Director Bill Brazier. “Their generosity will help us serve those who otherwise would go without, life changing dental care.”
The St. Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic is located at 3000 Gratiot Ave in Detroit in one of the more economically challenged areas in the city of Detroit. The clinic serves patients who are outside the normal safety net system, with a range of services including, extractions, dentures, fillings and cleanings. All of the dental providers – dentists, oral surgeon and dental hygienists are volunteers. The clinic also partners with students and professors from University of Detroit Mercy Dental School, University of Michigan Dental School, Wayne County Community Dental School and Baker College Dental Schools.
