St. Vincent de Paul has been awarded a grant from the Dresner Foundation in the amount of $50,000 to support our Dental Clinic.
The mission of St. Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic is to provide quality dental services to underserved and uninsured individuals in the Metro Detroit area. The clinic has the capacity to treat patients who need dental treatment – cleaning, fillings, extractions and dentures. Last year the clinic served 2,330 patients.
The Dresner Foundation is dedicated to transforming lives in profoundly positive ways through grants focused on health, youth and animal welfare. By maintaining the focus of their work on the mission, the Dresner Foundation hopes to enrich lives by providing the resources needed to lead full and healthy lives.
St. Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic is dedicated to the improvement of oral health among the underprivileged they serve and is excited for the opportunities available through this grant. “With this generous Dresner Foundation grant, SVdP will be able to improve the overall quality of the dental clinic,” said SVdP executive director Bill Brazier. “We appreciate receiving this much needed funding to support our good work and look forward to putting it to good use.”
The SVdP clinic is located on Detroit’s east side and is able to provide outstanding oral health care by utilizing skilled volunteer dentists, hygienists and oral surgeons as well as dental students from local universities.
“We believe in working with organizations in our focus areas to create opportunities that have community impact, and promote wellbeing. We know that the St Vincent de Paul Dental Clinic truly transforms lives and we are pleased to support their work,” said Kevin Furlong CEO of the Dresner Foundation.
