Midwest Memorial Group joins the effort to keep neighbors warm this winter. Please donate a coat today!
St. Vincent de Paul will be partnering with Midwest Memorial Group and will kick off Thanksmas-Operation Coat Check, a statewide effort to collect coats to keep those in need warm this winter.
St. Vincent de Paul is asking everyone to go through their closets and “check” their coats. Is last year’s coat too big, too small, too anything at all? Drop a new or slightly used coat for kids or adults off at any of the twenty-four (24) Midwest Memorial Group cemetery locations in Michigan. For a complete listing of Midwest Memorial Group locations donors can visit their website at www.midwestmemorialgroup.com.
The program officially begins Monday, November 16 and will last until Monday, December 7. This exciting program is also St. Vincent de Paul’s first time partnership with Midwest Memorial Group. Thanksmas-Operation Coat Check was developed to highlight the season between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
“The need is greater than ever this year,” said SVdP executive director, Bill Brazier. “After last winter’s polar vortex, we really need the help of the community to meet the increasing numbers of people that are coming to us for help to keep warm. Through the simple donation of a coat you can make a significant impact on the life of someone in our community.”
“One of the fastest ways one can give back to their community is through donations,” said Jim Price, president and CEO of Midwest Memorial Group. “Helping our neighbors in need stay warm this winter is necessary and can be achieved by the simple act of donating a coat. We are excited to partner with St. Vincent de Paul by kicking off Thanksmas-Operation Coat Check and help those in need handle the coming winter.”
